Pieced Constructions

Patricia Malarcher’s ongoing “pieced constructions” consist of patchwork and appliqued fabric, mixed media collage, and stitching by hand or machine. A work might include surface design techniques such as discharge or printing as well as contemporary materials such as Mylar or laminated substances. Formal patterns are often combined with intuitive design.
